FLOW ON: Energize your routine with Riverfront Yoga

Yoga and the Mississippi River: Take your flow one pose further

Enjoy an energized yoga flow with a scenic inspiration: the Mississippi River.

Yoga is taught every Friday evening and Saturday morning in Cape Girardeau on the riverfront steps, thanks to the parks and recreation department.

The 2020 season starts in early May and continues through the fall, depending on the weather.

Instructor Kelly Downes shows Heartland Weekend how Riverfront Yoga will bring a deeper foundation to your practice.

The group class is held Friday evenings from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and on Saturday mornings from 8-9 a.m.

All you need is $4, a towel, a mat, and most importantly a bottle of water.

If you don’t have a mat, don’t worry. Mats will be available.

The class is open to all ages and skill levels.

From there, join other yogis and take in all the Mighty Mississippi has to offer.

Just head to the riverfront steps near the flood gates at Water Street and Broadway.
