A country singer that hails from the Heartland is being honored by his hometown.
When you drive through Perryville, Missouri, you will now see this new welcome sign standing.
The sign read home of Grand Ole Opry Member Chris Janson. He’s the youngest living member of the Grand Ole Opry.
What’s more: Janson was born in Perryville in 1986 and is a 2004 graduate of Perryville High School.
After graduating, he moved to Nashville where he went on to top charts with songs like “Better I Don’t”, “Buy Me a Boat”, “Holdin’ Her” and “Fix a Drink”.
Now he’s making headlines with his single “Drunk Girl.”
What a wonderful surprise & honor to wake up to today in Vegas for the ACM’s. I’m humbled by this awesome gesture back…
Janson won his first Academy of Country Music Awards trophy on April 7, 2019, for Video of the Year.
Reba McEntire actually surprised Janson backstage with the award before the ceremony started.
“I just want to hug you right now,” Janson told the music legend.
