JACKSON, Mo. (Heartland News) - More than 20 teams will compete at this year’s Jackson Backyard BBQ.
The event is set for 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 10 at the Jackson City Park Band Shell.
Attendees will be able to sample entries from all teams, as well as enjoy a pulled pork meal with chips.
Soft drinks, lemonade and bottled water will be available.
Organizers say there will be live music and a bounce house for children.

Awards will be presented at 3 p.m.
Tickets are $20 at the gate. Ages 12 and younger get in free.
Proceeds go to support The BackStoppers Inc., a St. Louis-based organization that supports first responder families in need.
According to Jackson Backyard BBQ board member Mackenzie Koch, the event has raised $152,000 for the cause since 2019.
The fundraising total for the 2025 event was $42,000.
