ALTENBURG, Mo. (Heartland News) - The “Best Little Fair in the Land” returns Friday-Saturday, September 25 and 26 to celebrate nearly 80 years.
Organizers say the East Perry Community Fair in Altenburg has an estimated attendance of 25,000 to 30,000 over two days.
It all starts with a parade on Friday at 1:30 p.m., followed by opening ceremonies featuring the parade’s grand marshal.
Other events include live music, the River Hills Run, tractor pulls, a mule jumping competition and more.
Organizers say most of the livestock judging and shows will take place throughout the day on Saturday, ending with the 4-H and FFA livestock sale at 5 p.m.

There will also be carnival rides and fair food.

The fair continues to have free parking, free admission and free entertainment, but organizers remind everything that having a large crowd in a small town requires patience in dealing with traffic and parking.
