MAKANDA, Ill. (HEARTLAND WEEKEND) - The Southern Illinois Pagan Alliance invites the public to celebrate the fall equinox for Mabon later this month.
The event will take place on Sunday, September 20, starting at noon at Shelter 2 at Giant City State Park. The ritual begins at 2 p.m. with a potluck to follow.
According to SIPA, Mabon is the second of three harvest festivals and the time when day and night are equal in length. This time of year encourages pagans to reap what they sow, both literally and figuratively.
