SAINTE GENEVIEVE, Mo. (Heartland News) - A sweet festival in southeast Missouri is celebrating all things honey.
Fly with the Hive is set for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 12 in Historic Downtown Ste. Genevieve.
Organizers say there will be something for everyone, with honey demonstrations, food and craft vendors and children’s activities.
Local artists Allie Wolk and Diana Crabtree will perform live music.
Admission is free.

Kenny Schaaf with Brix Urban Winery and Market said as many as 2,000 people turned out to the inaugural event in 2025.
He said the festival is a chance for the whole family to learn about how local honey is produced.
“We’re actually going to have two beekeepers there doing some little demonstrations and explaining how important bees are actually to our environment and our earth and everything.”
Schaaf said honey is also important for local business owners whose products rely on it, including his own.
“Meade is actually a honey-based wine, is what it is, so we start off with honey for the fermentation and we back sweeten with honey.”
Schaaf said his business also offers homemade sodas and slushes free of dyes and high-fructose corn syrup for children or anyone who wants a nonalcoholic beverage.
