Carbondale School Dist. fall festival to raise money for PTO

CARBONDALE, Ill. (Heartland News) - A southern Illinois school district’s 3rd annual Community Fall Festival will raise money for the PTO.

You can join the Carbondale Elementary School District on September 25 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the middle school. The festival will include bounce houses, games, food trucks and more.

Organizers say the event continues to grow in popularity each fall. It raised more than $7,000 in its first year and $6,000 in its second year. The PTO is aiming to raise $10,000 this year.

“This festival has become one of our favorite nights of the year,” PTO President Lynn Kidd said in a news release. “It’s amazing to see how much this event has grown since we started it three years ago. Watching the whole community come together to support our teachers and kids, while just having a great time, is exactly what the PTO is all about.”

You can buy wristbands in advance for $8 online by Sept. 22, or $10 at the event.
