JACKSON, Mo. (Heartland News) - For the third year, the Cape Girardeau County Historical Society invited the community out for the Arts, Crafts and Music Festival.
The event was from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 22.
Admission was free.
At the Jackson Civic Center, thousands of attendees found 53 vendors.
There will be demonstrations including basket weaving, painting and cigar box banjos.

Live performances included bluegrass, folk and gospel music by local artists:

- The Whitewater Bluegrass Band
- The Wednesday Boys
People say it was a great turnout.
“Super exciting for us. We’ve been here since the beginning, and we love setting up here at the Civic Center,” vendor Nicole Rhodes said.
“It’s really cool. I like seeing people make stuff with their hands. We’re kind of entering a time when people just kind of, they’ll automate it, they’ll throw the process to AI. It’s really cool to see a lot of people are doing stuff with just raw materials,” vendor Daniel Pennington said.
“We have really cool vendors. I mean, lots of artists, local artists, and I think that’s what really draws them in, just the local people,” said August Hanks, a docent with the Cape Girardeau County Historical Society.

Food was available for purchase from The Old Country Store, Watts BBQ, Sugar Chic Ice Cream and Emma & Ollie’s beverages.
Additionally, the cross country team and art club with Jackson High School had a bake sale.
