Southern Ill. Bigfoot Conference held Sept. 5

MOUNT VERNON, Ill. (Heartland News) - The second annual Southern Illinois Bigfoot Conference took place on Saturday, September 5.

Bigfoot enthusiasts attended the conference at the Granada Theater, 108 North 9th Street.

Mayor John Lewis declared it “Southern Illinois Bigfoot Week” ahead of the conference.

There was a VIP meet and greet reception with guests on Sept. 4.

Martin Groves, a retired police officer, was a speaker at the event. He says he has been to Bigfoot events around the country and claims to have seen cryptids in person in Kentucky at the Land Between the Lakes.

Organizers said they will hold another event. The date and time are still to be determined.
