CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - A southern Illinois tradition will mix chocolate, music and entertainment into one evening to benefit victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.
Survivor Empowerment Center will host its 27th Annual Taste of Chocolate fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, at the ThrillHouse Event Center in Marion.
This year’s theme is “Taste the World. Make an Impact. Empower New Beginnings.”
Proceeds will support the center’s free, confidential services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, including emergency shelter, crisis intervention, counseling, medical and legal advocacy, transitional housing and a 24-hour hotline.
“For 27 years, Taste of Chocolate has represented what is possible when a community chooses to show up for its neighbors,” Angela Odom, CEO of Survivor Empowerment Center, said in a statement.
