MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) - A theft investigation follow-up in Marshall County, Kentucky led to the arrest of two people on drug-related charges.

Just before 7:45 p.m. on July 10, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at a residence on Oak Level Road to follow up on an ongoing theft case.

Deputies say they found and seized suspected methamphetamine, suspected Schedule II narcotics, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a handgun.

Authorities arrested 48-year-old Erskin Estes of Benton and 41-year-old Chasity Spears of Benton.

Estes is facing the following charges:

  • Poss. Cont. Sub, 1st Degree, 3rd or > Offense (Methamphetamine)- Class D Felony
  • Drug Paraphernalia- Buy/Possess - Class A Misdemeanor
  • Poss. Cont. Sub, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Drug Unspecified) - Class D Felony

Spears is facing the following charges:

  • Poss. Cont. Sub, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine), Firearm Enhanced- Class D Felony
  • Drug Paraphernalia- Buy/Possess - Class A Misdemeanor
  • Poss. of Marijuana- Class B Misdemeanor

Both were taken to the Marshall County Detention Center.
