CARTER COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - The suspect from an Ellsinore, Mo., shooting on July 4 is now facing murder charges.
The Carter County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting incident on July 4 near County Road 330/Charcoal Kiln Road. Authorities captured 28-year-old Peter Taylor on July 5 after a 14-hour search.
The sheriff’s office announced that the new charges against Taylor include Murder in the 1st Degree. Here is the full list of charges:
- Murder 1st Degree
- Assault 1st Degree or Attempt – Serious Physical Injury (3 counts)
- Armed Criminal Action (4 counts)
- Unlawful Use of a Weapon (3 counts)
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child 1st Degree (1 count)
They confirmed a death and other injuries from the incident.
Taylor has a court hearing scheduled for Tuesday, July 11 at 9 a.m.
This investigation is ongoing.
