MARION, Ill. (KFVS) - As Americans prepare to celebrate Independence Day, the Marion VA Health Care System invited veterans and their families to take a different kind of patriotic step--one focused on health, wellness and the benefits they’ve earned through service.
The Marion VA Freedom 250 Vet Fest was held on July 2 at 10 a.m. at 2401 W. Main Street in Marion, Illinois.
This veteran health and resource fair connected veterans with valuable health services, community organizations and support programs ahead of the Fourth of July holiday.

While Independence Day is often marked by parades, cookouts, and fireworks, organizers say the event was also a reminder to recognize the sacrifices made by the men and women who helped protect the nation’s freedoms.
