BLOOMFIELD, Mo. (KFVS) - The community is invited to the Stars and Stripes National Museum and Library on June 18 to celebrate International Picnic Day.
The celebration will include history, food and family fun.
The museum will extend its hours from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. so attendees can explore exhibits in the evening. Visitors can tour the museum’s collection preserving military journalism.
They will serve free hot dogs, burgers and fried bologna sandwiches. Food will be served from 10:30 a.m. until they run out.
Rob Weeks will give a historical presentation at 6 p.m., “General Sherman: Genius or Mad Man?” The presentation will examine the legacy, strategies and controversial tactics of Civil War Major General William Tecumseh Sherman.
