PADUCAH, Ky. (HEARTLAND WEEKEND) - Paducah’s 5th annual Juneteenth Celebration is happening Friday, June 19.
And to celebrate the milestone, organizers are officially changing its name to FreedomFest: Paducah’s Juneteenth Celebration.
The Paducah-McCracken County NAACP, with the city of Paducah and the Community Growth Legacy Foundation, will host the event, which runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the National Quilt Museum Lawn.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs or quilts for seating.
There will be a free concert by Nashville-based band The DVL Revue, with local performer RedVelvet TheGoddess opening.

The museum’s lobby and gift shop will be open, and vendors will be on-site for shopping.
You can purchase official FreedomFest t-shirts, with proceeds benefitting the Paducah-McCracken County NAACP.
There will be food vendors, as well as complimentary soft drinks--while supplies last.
Broussard’s Cajun Cuisine will offer Juneteenth-themed cocktails and appetizers available for purchase, with outdoor seating on their patio.

- Sundaze in the Park - Sunday, June 14, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Robert Coleman Park
- Alpha Cares Community Health & Wellness Fair - Friday, June 19, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Washington Street Baptist Church
- 10th Annual North Side Day (Father’s Day Edition) - Sunday, June 21, 4 p.m. at NorthSide Stop N Go
