ALTO PASS, Ill. (KFVS) - Hundreds of Jeeps are expected to turn up at Bald Knob Cross of Peace for an event during the first weekend of June.
The 7th Annual Blessing of the Jeeps is set for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 6.
Organizers say there will be blessing prayers at 9:30 a.m. and 12 p.m., along with food trucks, merch and collector’s items.
The event is free for families and no registration is required.
Board member Steve McKeown said Jeep lovers are expected to show up not just from Illinois, but Missouri, Indiana and Kentucky, as well.

“Last year we had about 300 Jeeps, and I would not be surprised if we didn’t double that this year. There’s really a lot of excitement.”
People do not have to own a Jeep to attend. McKeown said some attendees take part with toy Jeeps, motorcycles or even horses.
While the Cross is hosting the event, McKeown said the Cross is not the main sponsor.
In August, McKeown said an exciting new event is coming up at the Cross. Details will come later.
