MARION, Ill. (KFVS) - Don’t worry if you see emergency response crews at the Veterans Airport of Southern Illinois on Saturday afternoon, May 30; it’s just an exercise.
A simulated crash will occur from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., according to the Williamson County Emergency Management Agency.
The purpose of the exercise is to test the airport’s emergency plan and response to a crash.
There will be emergency response vehicles in the area. The agency asks the public not to report the exercise as an emergency on social media or call 911.
