PADUCAH, Ky. (KFVS) - An 18-year-old Paducah man was arrested Wednesday night, May 27, following a shooting incident.
Paducah police officers responded to a report of a gunshot just after 7 p.m. at the apartment complex, Perkins Creek Drive.
The caller said they heard a gunshot, then later discovered that a bullet entered his apartment, lodging into an interior wall. The caller was in the room when the shot was fired.
Officers determined the shot came from a nearby apartment. They identified the occupant as 18-year-old Darius Benjamin of Paducah, Ky.
When officers secured the residence, they could see drug paraphernalia and marijuana in plain view. They obtained a search warrant for the apartment and discovered an AR-15-style and AK-47-style rifle, along with ammunition.

Benjamin was arrested and charged with the following:
- First Degree Wanton Endangerment
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
- Possession of Marijuana
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
He was taken to the McCracken County Jail.
