COBDEN, Ill. (KFVS) - The Village of Cobden will celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with a Revolutionary and Civil War encampment.
The event will take place on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7, at the Cobden Community Park.
Activities will include:
- Flag presentation by VFW Ritual Team (June 6 at 10:30 a.m.)
- Dennis Stroughmatt performance (June 6 at 1:30 p.m.)
- Ulysses S. Grant speech (June 6 at 2:30 p.m.)
- Prayer service (June 7 at 10 a.m.)
- Historic exhibits at the Union County Museum and at the park
- Historic encampment with demonstrations
- Kids games and activities
Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket.
