Wichmann Vineyard set to host grape stomp benefiting Boys & Girls Club of Southern Ill.

COBDEN, Ill. (KFVS) - Wichmann Vineyard will host the Fifth Annual Grape Stomp on Saturday, June 6, to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Southern Illinois.

Guests are invited to stomp on grapes the old-fashioned way. From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., groups of four will enter barrels every 15 minutes to see who can make the most juice. The top stomper will be crowned “Grape Stomp Champion” and awarded a complimentary bottle of Wichmann Vineyard wine and a set of wine glasses.

There will also be a competition for kids under 12 to win $5 and a participation medal.

Attendees can participate in a “Lucy Look-Alike Contest,” inspired by the “I Love Lucy” grape stomping scene. Guests can dress the part for the chance to win a bottle of wine and wine glasses.

General admission tickets are $15 and include a glass of Wichmann Vineyard wine for guests 21 and over. Tickets are available for purchase in the tasting room or online. Proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Southern Illinois.
