SIKESTON, Mo. (KFVS) - Crawfish lovers came together for the Sikeston Jaycee Crawfish & Music Festival on Saturday, May 16.
Fresh Louisiana crawfish were on the rodeo grounds.
The community event has been going on for 17 years.
Jaycee Gavin Childers said it’s great to get people out for the event.
“It’s super exciting, you know, it’s a great way to bring community together, get everybody out here, have a great time,” Childers said. “Kind of put everything in the world aside, and just, you know, celebrate something as awesome as crawfish.”

Organizer Cody Jones shared what he loves about the boil.
“Just being with the guys... for a good cause. We’re raising money, so that’s my favorite part of it, to put back into the community,” Jones said.
The event started in the afternoon with music performances scheduled in the evening.
The John D. Hale Band started at 6:30 p.m., and headliner Tyler Nance performed at 8:30 p.m.
