Mound City to honor 250 years of service at special Memorial Day event

MOUND CITY, Ill. (HEARTLAND NEWS) - Mound City National Cemetery will host a special Memorial Day ceremony on Saturday, May 23.

The event will commemorate both Memorial Day and the 250th anniversary of the United States.

The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. at the cemetery in Mound City.

This year’s program features a unique “Living Timeline” presentation with uniformed interpreters representing key eras in American military history, from the Civil War to the present day.
