MAKANDA, Ill. (KFVS) - Looking for something to do this May? Giant City State Park has you covered.
On Friday, May 1, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., join local forester and amphibian enthusiast, Jeremy Schumacher, as he leads an evening hike to identify calls and search for amphibians during the spring breeding season.
Participants should be prepared for very wet conditions and darkness.
Then, every Thursday morning from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. throughout the month, you can head out to Giant City State Park to meet fellow nature enthusiasts in a relaxed social setting for a cup of coffee or tea.
After refreshments, participants will take a leisurely guided nature stroll on one of the Giant City Park trails.
