CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - The Rotary Club of Cape Girardeau and The Rushing Family Trust held its 27th annual All-American Soap Box Derby on May 2.
27 racers (ages 11 through 17) raced down the hill on N. Sprigg Street between Blanchard Elementary School and Bertling St., starting at 7:30 a.m.
16 racers were in the Stock Division, and 11 were in the Super Stock Division.
The first-place winners, Stock #9 Zander Nelson and Super Stock #SS97 Eli Fortner, will go on to compete at the 2026 World Championship in Akron, Ohio in July.
