CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Leaders at Southeast Missouri State University hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the Roy Blunt Health Professions Hall on Thursday.
Former U.S. Senator Roy Blunt joined SEMO leaders, faculty, students, and community partners for the groundbreaking ceremony at 11 a.m., near Kent Library.
“This facility represents the best of Southeast Missouri State University,” said University President Dr. Brad Hodson.
The 55,000-square-foot facility will provide new academic and state-of-the-art lab spaces for SEMO’s health profession students.

“It’s a great privilege to be associated with this addition to the SEMO campus and what this facility will do to enhance the mission of the University,” said Senator Roy Blunt.
According to the university, construction is expected to be finished by late 2028.
