“His promise to his fellow soldiers is that they would not be forgotten, and he always told us that promises made, promises kept, and from that moment we got up early, and we met, and they are recognizing that today and honoring us for helping him bring those ideas together and this beautiful campus to fruition,” said Don Fulford.
Executive Director Rae Lynn Munoz shared just how important the founders and volunteers are for the growth of the memorial.
“Those were the giants on the shoulders on which we stand; they are the visionaries who took one man’s promise and turned it into what we know call the national memorial,” she said.
