EDDYVILLE, Ky. (KFVS) - The Eddyville and Kuttawa Fire Departments responded to an out-of-control fire Sunday afternoon, March 29.
The fire was at the intersection of 1199 and 3171.
Officials say the fire started from a burn involving leaves and trash that quickly spread out of control.

The Eddysville Fire Department is reminding the community of the current burn restrictions in Kentucky.
Burning is not allowed between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. All fires must be attended to at all times and completely extinguished. These restrictions are in place until fire season is over on April 30.

Higher temperatures, lower humidity and increased wind spread fires more quickly and can be dangerous within minutes.
The fire department also says that not all materials can be burned. Some of those items include:
- Plastics
- Construction debris
- Treated wood
- Tires
- Household waste

The Lyon County Sheriff’s office also assisted on scene.
