CHAFFEE, Mo. (KFVS) - The Chaffee Fire Department responded to a structure fire late Friday night, March 20, where one dog died.

Around 10:04 p.m., the Chaffee Fire Department arrived at a single-story home on Elliott Street, where smoke was coming from the attic.

Seven dogs were located at the residence, and one died due to smoke inhalation. No humans were located at the home.

Scott City, Delta, Oran and Benton fire departments also arrived to assist.

The house suffered significant fire, smoke and water damage.
