CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - An event raising money for a scholarship for people with disabilities returns to Cape Girardeau in March.
The Howard Aslinger Endurance Run is Friday and Saturday, March 13-14 at Arena Park.
It’s for runners of all experience levels, challenging them to test their limits by running for an hour, 12 hours or 24 hours.
Registration fees go to support the Howard L. Aslinger Memorial Scholarship Foundation.
Fees range from $40 to $120, depending on the category.

According to the foundation, Howard Aslinger was born in 1940, contracting polio at the age of 11 and requiring a wheelchair for the rest of his life.
The scholarship in his honor goes to multiple recipients with disabilities, helping them further their education through a university, vocational training or special needs education.
