MOUNDS, Ill. (KFVS) - The Alexander–Pulaski Counties Branch of the NAACP will host its 2026 Sneaker Ball on Saturday, March 14 to celebrate Women’s History Month.

The event will kick off at 6 p.m. at the Meridian High School Gymnasium, located at 3401 Mounds Road in Mounds, Illinois.

This year’s theme is “Stepping into Her Power,” celebrating the strength, leadership and resilience of women across generations.

Organizers say this event aims to uplift women in the community while highlighting the ongoing work toward equity, opportunity and representation.

Guests will wear their finest attire paired with their favorite sneakers and enjoy entertainment provided by The J Sound.

Guest speaker, Dr. Tessa J. Davis, Director of Care Management for the Southern Crescent Technical College, will be in attendance.

According to organizers, Dr. Davis is widely respected for her leadership and her commitment to improving outcomes for underserved communities.

Tickets are $25 per person in advance or $30 per person at the door.
