CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. (KFVS) - The Caruthersville Police Department says they are looking for a missing backpack containing a firearm.

According to the police department, the backpack was accidentally left in front of a residence located in the 700 block of Beckwith Avenue.

The bag is gold in color with cream. It is a Lovevook brand backpack style.

The police department asks that if you have picked up a backpack that does not belong to you, do not open it or handle the firearm. Call 911 immediately.

If a child or anyone else has located the bag, they are urged to contact the Caruthersville Police Department right away at 573-333-4101 and push 201 or message their Facebook page.
