CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (HEARTLAND WEEKEND) - Cape Anime Con 2026 is set for April 18-19 in Cape Girardeau.
According to the Cape Events Facebook page, this year’s convention is taking place at the Show Me Center.
Multiple anime voice actors will be attending the weekend-long event, including:
- Alessandro Juliani, known for voicing “L” in Death Note and has appeared on screen as Lt. Felix Gaeta in Battlestar Galactica, Dr. Cerberus in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Jacopo Sinclair in The 100 and Dr. Emil Hamilton in Smallville.
- Brad Swaile, known for voicing Light Yagami in Death Note, along with Rock in Black Lagoon, Nightcrawler in X-Men: Evolution, Teen Gohan in Dragon Ball Z, Mousse in Ranma ½ and other characters in the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, including Amuro Ray and Setsuna F. Seiei.
- Brian Drummond, known for voicing Ryuk in Death Note, the original English Vegeta in Dragon Ball Z, Wolverine in numerous Marvel projects, Venom in Spider-Man Unlimited, Dr. Claw in Inspector Gadget and Knuckles in Sonic Underground.
- Ian James Corlett, known as the original English voice of Goku in Dragon Ball Z and is also known for voicing Cheetor in Beast Wars: Transformers, Mega Man and Bob in ReBoot, with current roles including Miroku in Yashahime, Pilar in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Clutch Powers in Ninjago, AJ in Firebuds and Fynch in Destiny 2.
- Colleen Wheeler, known as the voice of Rem in Death Note and Mystique/Raven Darkholme in X-Men: Evolution. Her other voice roles include Lego DreamZzz, Kong: King of Atlantis, Mobile Suit Gundam, Saber Marionette J, Ōban Star-Racers and The Willoughbys.
- Stephanie Sheh, known as the voice of Sailor Moon. Her other voice roles include DC: Super Hero Girls, The Legend of Korra, Monster High and Bleach.
Shannon Chan-Kent, known for voicing Misa Amane in the English dub of Death Note, was originally scheduled to attend the event. However, on Thursday, April 2, organizers announced that due to unexpected medical issues, Chan-Kent will no longer be able to attend Cape Anime 2026.
The rest of the guests will be at the show all weekend, signing autographs and taking pictures with fans.

There will also be lots of other activities for guests to enjoy, including vendor booths, video game tournaments and idol fest, as well as a ramen noodle eating contest and maid cafe.
