SCOTT COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - According to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, 26-year-old Kieffer Austin Clay of Cape Girardeau is facing multiple charges after a reported burglary.

The sheriff’s office says that deputies responded to a reported burglary at a residence in Scott County on Monday, February 16.

After the investigation, Clay was charged with the following:

  • Burglary – 2nd Degree (Class D Felony)
  • Property Damage – 2nd Degree
  • Tampering with a Motor Vehicle – 1st Degree (Class D Felony)

According to the sheriff’s office, Clay entered the residence by breaking a basement window and causing property damage. He was also found operating a 2019 Buick Encore without the owner’s consent.

Arrest warrants were issued, and a bond has been set at $30,000.
