(KFVS) - The Lenten season runs February 18-April 2 and several businesses, churches, and communities will host fish fries.

Missouri

Cape Girardeau

In Delta, JJ’s Roadside Cafe sells fried fish every Friday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. The $13 meal includes catfish or butterfly shrimp, fries, slaw and hushpuppies. Fried catfish is also available for $16/lb.

The Jackson Knights of Columbus will offer fried fish, chicken, fries, hushpuppies, mac & cheese, baked beans, slaw and drink for $15/person. Dine-in and carry-out options are available. The Jackson KC Hall will be open for the events on February 13, 4:30-7 p.m., and on Fridays during Lent from 4:30-7:30 p.m. The KC’s will also hold fish fries on April 17, May 15, September 11 and October 16.

Perry County

The St. Vincent Fish Fry in Perryville will be Feb. 20 and March 6, 20 and 27. Dine-in is from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the K of C Hall. It’s $12 for individuals, $6 per child, $25 bulk, $50 family and free dine-in only for children ages 5 and younger. They’ll serve fish fillets, fried potato chips or wedges, hush puppies, slaw, drinks and dessert. New is a shrimp option for dine-in only. carry-out and delivery are available. Scott County

The Scott City Knights of Columbus will hold their annual Lenten Fish Fries on the following Fridays during Lent: February 20, 27 and March 6, 13, 20, 27 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The dinners will be at their Banquet Hall, 28745 U S Highway 61 in Scott City. It costs $15 per person for adults, $8 for kids ages 6 to 12 and free for kids ages 5 and younger. It’s dine-in or carry-out. They will be serving crispy fried catfish, shrimp, chicken, seasoned curly fries, golden hushpuppies, fresh coleslaw, creamy mac and cheese, hearty baked beans, and drinks.

The SEMO Shrine Club will hold their fish fries on the following Fridays: February 6, 13, 20, 27 and March 6, 13 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The all-you-can-eat pond-raised catfish dinners will be served at the SEMO Shrine Building on Garwood Ave., behind the VFW ball park, in Sikeston. Adult dine-in meals are $18 and to go/takeout orders are $15.

The Kelly-Benton FFA Fish Fry will be Feb. 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. It costs $13 per ticket. You can contact Ms. Ingham, an FFA officer or an FFA member to buy a ticket.

Babe’s Fish at 472 State Highway 146 in East Cape will be open Ash Wednesday, as well as their regular hours of Thursday-Saturday 11-7.
