According to the city, the “Carbondale Bikes!” winter ride will now be on Saturday, February 21 at 10 a.m.

This inaugural event encourages the community to bundle up and ride outside regardless of the temperature.

Riders should meet in the community room at the Neighborhood Co-Op grocery store in the Murdale Shopping Center at 10 a.m. on Feb. 21. Be prepared to sign a waiver upon arrival.

The loop is set to be 10-12 miles, including the Saluki Greenway and Mud Line Bike Path. One mile will be on an unpaved, gravel pathway, so mountain or hybrid bikes are recommended. Part of the loop will also be on streets with moving traffic. Riders are encouraged to wear bright clothing and have lights on their bikes. All riders are required to wear a helmet.
