CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Community leaders will mark the 100th anniversary of U.S. Highway 61 with several events in 2026.
Also known as the “Blues Highway,” it stretches from the Midwest to the Mississippi Delta, running through the heart of Cape Girardeau.
According to a news release from VisitCape and the city of Cape Girardeau, destinations along Highway 61 will host special exhibits, concerts, community gatherings and events throughout the year.
The city will host curated tours, riverfront experiences and storytelling events.
