CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - There will be a Dr. Martin L. King Jr. scholarship breakfast at the Southern Illinois University student center on Monday morning, January 19.
According to the NAACP Carbondale branch, Everick Turner, a retired IDOC warden will be the keynote speaker. The King Essay contest winners will also be recognized.
Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite, from an NAACP member or at the door. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. The program will begin by serving breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
