CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Mercy Health Foundation Southeast will delay the 10th annual Journey Gala 2026 until May 9.

The date of the gala was moved due to a winter storm forecast for Saturday, January 24.

The gala was originally scheduled to take place on January 24.

The gala will now be held on Saturday, May 9, at 6 p.m. at the Drury Plaza Conference Center, located at 3351 Percy Drive.

Representatives say the difficult decision to change the date of the gala was made with the safety of the community in mind.

The event, titled “My Big Greek Gala,” will benefit the Mercy Cancer Center in Cape Girardeau through its Cancer Care Fund, which provides essential services for cancer patients in need, including transportation, lodging, nutritional supplements and medication assistance.

Funds also support the foundation’s investments in advanced technologies, treatments and programs to improve cancer care in the community.

Organizers say the benefit will include silent and live auctions, raffles and entertainment from Jessica Haas, a speed painter who has been featured on national television and has worked with the MLB, ESPN, FedEx, Google and many more.

Guests will also enjoy live music from Breakdown Shakedown.

It is a black-tie optional event.
