MOUNDS, Ill. (KFVS) - The Alexander/Pulaski Counties NAACP will host its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
The breakfast will bring together community members and leaders to honor the life of Dr. King and his legacy of pursuing justice and equality.
Rev. Joseph A. Brown, S.J., PhD, will speak at the event. Rev. Brown is the Director of the School of Africana and Multicultural Studies at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
The event will be held at the Meridian High School gymnasium(1401 Mounds Road, Mounds, IL) on Monday, January 19, 2026, beginning at 9 a.m.
Those wishing to attend are strongly encouraged to buy tickets early.

The cost of tickets is $20 for adults, $10 for ages 12 and under or $200 per table. Tables seat six people.
