COBDEN, Ill. (KFVS) - Christmas in the Village of Cobden is returning for a 17th year on Saturday, December 6.
The day-long event will feature several events, from craft and food vendors to a petting zoo, strolling carolers and Santa and Mrs. Claus.
There will also be a lights parade through the village beginning at 5 p.m.
Following the parade, there will be the lighting of the village tree.
Organizers say there will be a unique Caroling Karaoke Hayride topped off with hot cider and doughnuts after the tree lighting.

The following is a list of events:
- 9 a.m. Dashing Through the Village 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Run
- Craft and food vendors, free s’mores courtesy of the Lions Club, Bounce Houses and inflatable games, a petting zoo and Staley Farm miniature horses
- The Presbyterian Church is sponsoring a craft fair and an art show and sale
- St. Joseph Church is hosting a traditional Christmas bazaar along with a soup luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the Old Feed Store, with free goody bags, along with the balloon lady, free refreshments and ornament making.
- The iconic ESL Folkloric Dance Team from the Cobden schools is performing in the afternoon in the park
- Various shops will offer Christmas items
- The Union County Historical Society is sponsoring a wood carving demonstration, a display of local artwork and Nativities.
- Strolling carolers will entertain throughout the village
- 5 p.m. lights parade, followed by tree lighting and Caroling Karaoke Hayride with hot cider & doughnuts
