MOUNT VERNON, Ill. (KFVS) - The city of Mount Vernon will host several holiday events now through the new year.

Some of the events include open houses, shopping at small businesses and an indoor market.

“Mt. Vernon is the perfect destination for a magical Christmas celebration,” said Angela Schrum, tourism director. “With so many events and activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.”

Junk N Disorderly Christmas at the Mall

Join Junk N Disorderly’s Christmas At The Mall on November 22-23 for a weekend of handmade and vintage gifts.

The mall aisles will be transformed into a haven for unique gifts, from rustic collectibles and crafts to jewelry and more.

They say legendary DJ Shaking Shane will also be there.

Hembeez Honey Farms Christmas Open House

Join Hembeez Honey Farms' annual Christmas Open House will be November 23-24.

They will have a wide selection of gifts like honey lotions, balms, salves and more.

Chef Adam’s Food is Life will be there serving up some treats.

Downtown Mt. Vernon Holiday Open House

The open house will be on November 24. You can stroll through the charming streets and discover exceptional sales and contests at local businesses.

Organizers say there will be a horse-drawn wagon ride with Bonnie and Bella. You can also create memories with Santa and participate in Christmas raffles.

Join them on Sundays from November 24 to December 15. This market offers a selection of local vendors.

They will have a variety of arts and crafts, from one-of-a-kind pieces to seasonal favorites.

The annual Shop Small Christmas Crawl is presented by the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce.

You can visit retail businesses throughout the county from November 22 to December 18.

Send a picture or copy of your receipt to the chamber of commerce for a chance to win a $500 gift card from one of the local businesses you turned in a receipt from.
