Old Town Cape’s Christmas tree lit on Broadway

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Many people came together for a festive night as the 30-foot tall tree in downtown Cape Girardeau lit up.

Lit on November 24 around 6:15 p.m., this year marks the fifth annual Old Town Cape Tree presentation. The tree lighting event was held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Mr. and Mrs. Claus joined the ceremony as spectators enjoyed smores and hot chocolate awaiting the lights.

The tree will remain lit throughout the Christmas season until the beginning of the New Year. The tree lighting ceremony is the first of many holiday events in Cape Girardeau. The 31st Annual Parade of Lights will be on Sunday, November 26.
