Holiday canned food drive to benefit southern Ill. food banks

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - A holiday canned food drive will now benefit food banks throughout southern Illinois.

According to a release from State Representative Paul Jacobs’ office on Friday, December 9, they expanded the food drive to include more food banks after a strong response from members of the community.

Canned food items can be dropped off by appointment through Friday, December 16 at his Carbondale office, 206 W. College, Suite 122.

“I am just so thankful for the response we’ve received from the big-hearted and charitable people that I serve,” Jacobs said in the release. “I had always hoped to be able to collect enough supplies to help multiple food banks in the region, and am glad to report we are expanding our reach for the holiday season.”

Those wishing to donate can call the office at 618-534-9880 or email jacobs@ILHouseGOP.org to set up a time to drop off items.
