CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - Fall Fest 2022 will be Saturday, September 24 at Turley Park.
Presented by Southern Illinois Black Chamber of Commerce and Carbondale United, the free event will be from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Organizers say there will plenty of events for everyone to enjoy; including food, music, vendors and more.
Some of the vendors will be selling products made in southern Illinois.
There will be a line-up of live music and several activities for children.
Kids will have the chance to see the one of the Carbondale Fire Department’s firetrucks, have their face painted, to decorate pumpkins and to take part in sack races and bobbing for apples.
In addition to all the events, music and vendors, there will be community resources available.
“This is an opportunity for our community to get in the know,” said Van Ikner, with the Black Chamber of Commerce of Southern Illinois. “You have all these hidden treasures around. All these people selling products, people that have information to give to the community and this is a platform for all of us.”
This is the first year for the family-friendly event, and organizers hope there will be many more.
“We just want to bring the community together,” said Chastity Mays, Assistant Director at A Gift of Love Charity.
