BBQ, cold drinks, and live music… is there a better combination? We’d argue there’s not.
Good news: you can fill up on it all at the 27th annual Cape Jaycee BBQ Fest.
On Friday, Aug. 16 you’re invited to enjoy food from several area food trucks including Sugarfire Smokehouse, Two-Sides Grilling, and Mary Jane Bourbon + Smokehouse.
The Jaycees will turn up the heat at 5 p.m.
There will also be live music.

From 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Diamond Farm will put on a show.
Then at 8 p.m., the Mike Renick Band will put on a show.
You can even show off your skills during a cornhole tournament starting at 6 p.m.
Seasoned smokers will also go head-to-head in a BBQ competition.
This is a Kansas City Barbecue Society sanctioned event. The winners of each of the four categories will receive a cash prize.

Teams will start setting up at 9 a.m. Friday. Judging will start at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
What’s more: all of the money raised goes to help buy toys for local kids at Christmas.
If you feel inclined to do so, the Jaycees encourage you to make a donation or drop off a new, unopened toy at the Toy Box.
