The Bar featured in ‘Gone Girl’ to re-open

A downtown Cape Girardeau landmark will reopen in June.

The doors of The Bar will open to the public on June 27.

Sip on a cocktail, a cold beer or a glass of wine every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

It will only feature drinks.

You might remember, it was the set of a fictional bar featured in the movie “Gone Girl.”

The Bar opened in 2014 as a high-class restaurant. However, it temporarily closed to the public in October 2018, along with several other businesses owned by Doctor Sonjay Fonn.

KFVS reached out to Taste of Cape for a statement on the re-opening.

Owners hope to make The Bar everyone’s favorite spot to get a drink, keeping it true to its nature.

Derek Vaughn, a seasoned bartender, will run the business.

Taste of Cape also has plans to re-open Buckner’s Brewing Company and Stevie’s Steakburger by the fall of 2019.
