Those of us that grew up in the 1990s will likely argue that some of the best movies of all time came out during our decade.
There were some great Disney films: The Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story, Toy Story 2, and the list goes on.
Fans of action films can also testify to the greatness that was ’90s filmmaking: Armageddon, Men in Black Saving Private Ryan, Terminator Two.
And those that love a good tear-jerker will probably list Titanic and Ghost as a couple of their favorite flicks.
The folks at Frontier Bundles looked at the 20 highest-earning movies from 1990 to 1999 to see which ’90s movie was the favorite in each state.

Missourians had a soft spot for a young lion cub who had to grow up quickly. The Lion King was the clear favorite in The Show-Me State. It also tops the list as the most popular film from the 90s, winning 8 states. It’s actually one of the highest-grossing films of all time. (Bonus: a live-action version is in the works for 2019!)
Across the river in Illinois, you might say a little hometown pride made the choice clear. Home Alone was the favorite flick in Illinois. In case you don’t remember, the McCallisters called The Windy City home.
Home Alone was also the top pick in Kentucky.
