Regulars argue it might be the best in the Heartland
If you’re craving a full plate of catfish, then you’re invited to Huckleberry’s Pub in Mounds, Illinois.
That’s where you will find what some claim to be the “best” catfish in the tri-state area.
“We all meet up here sometimes in the evening and differnet things and I always have the catfish, it’s just great.” – Monica Smith, a regular Huckleberry’s customer
Here they serve up crispy Mississippi pond raised catfish filets seven days a week.
Owner Andy Clarke said the catfish has quickly become the most popular item on their menu.
Huckleberry’s Pub opened in 2015 as a small BBQ joint.
Clarke says he wanted to create a place where folks in deep southern Illinois can get great food, where they feel like home.
It has grown into a destination of sorts for local gatherings and interstate travelers.
Stop in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The menu features daily specials. Regulars say Sunday dinner is one of the best.

Besides the food, Huckleberry’s Pub offers a fully-stocked bar and a private gaming parlor.
Yes, you can actually spin slots all while enjoying a hearty meal. But don’t worry, the bar and restaurant are located in separate areas.
