Get your cowboy boots ready! The Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo is set to return for the 66th year!
Bucking broncos and professional bull riders are sure to kick up some dust over the course of Aug. 8 through Aug. 11.
The weekend includes all sorts of fun.

Night one, August 8, will feature a Perryville native.
We’re talking about Chris Janson, the youngest living member of the Gran Ole Opry.
On Thursday, bullfighting will return and then rising star Brett Young will take the stage.
You will be able to sing along when Justin Moore returns to the rodeo on Friday.
He will perform after five more rounds of bullfighting.
The Jaycees announced it will be a great day to be alive on Saturday, Aug. 12.
That’s when Travis Tritt will perform live.
Rodeo Chairman Ross Merideth said come August, it’ll be like Christmas in Sikeston.

Calling all young rodeo women. You’re wanted for the Jr. Miss and Miss Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo Pageant. Strut your stuff on July 14 at the rodeo grounds.
Find your seat for the annual Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo Parade. Floats from businesses will lineup on Kindergarten Street and stroll east down Salcedo Road. The fun starts at 10 a.m. This year the rodeo will give away $200 worth of prizes to the top three floats. The parade will be the official kick-off to rodeo week.
August 8 – 11
On Wednesday and Thursday, gates open at 6 pm. On Friday and Saturday, gates open at 5:30 pm.
The Rodeo officially starts at 7 pm, but it’s best to arrive early so you can park, grab food and drinks and find your friends.
Then buckle up for four nights of roping, riding and more by some of the most skilled cowboys and cowgirls. Here is a closer look at events you can see this year:
- Bareback riding
- Barrel racing
- Bull riding
- Saddle Bronc Riding
- Steer Wrestling
- Team Roping
- Tie-Down Roping
Bullfighters Only will return to the rodeo grounds Thursday night, Aug. 9 and Friday night, Aug. 10.
The action will include five rounds of bullfighting.

Competitors must show off freestyle stunts to dodge, duck and weave past charging bulls.
The bullfighter with the most control, style, creativity and willingness to take risks wins.
