Feathers, flowers, and ferris wheels: SEMO District Fair to feature national acts

Cap off your summer with "Feathers, flowers and ferris wheels"! That's the theme for the 164th edition of the SEMO District Fair.

The fun kicks off at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, with the parade that begins at Capaha Park.

Live music, carnival rides, and tractor pulls will continue through Sept. 14.

Tickets for grandstand events go on sale July 25 at 9 a.m. All pre-purchased tickets include free gate entry.

Francesca Battistelli and Jason Crabb

Francesca Battistelli and Jason Crabb will take the stage on Tuesday, September 10 for a night of contemporary Christian music.

Battistelli is a Grammy award-winning artist. She’s topped charts with seven radio singles, including her most well-known song “Holy Spirit.”

Kentucky-born Jason Crabb has won a Grammy and 21 Dove Awards. He’s a Gospel artist known to electrify the stage with songs like “Sometimes I Cry” and “He Knows What He’s Doing.”

Sawyer Brown

The Race Is On! Country band Sawyer Brown will entertain the crown on Wednesday, Sept. 11.

Sawyer Brown is one of the rare acts who became stars directly from winning Star Search.

The country-rock band is known for its hit-filled career with songs like “Some Girls Do.”

Little River Band

Good news: Help Is On Its Way! The Little River Band will put on a show at the SEMO District Fair on Thursday, Sept. 12.

Eagles founding member Glen Frey dubbed Little River Band “the best singing band in the world.”

Through the ‘70’s and ‘80’s, LRB enjoyed huge chart success with multi-platinum albums and chart-topping hits like:
“Reminiscing,”  “Cool Change,” and “Lonesome Loser.”

There will be special promotions on Sept. 10 and Sept 12. "Two for Tuesday" will take place on Sept. 10 and "Thrifty Thursday" on Sept. 12. They'll feature discounts on entry gate, carnival rides, and fair foods.
